Major Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying penalties," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen rockets attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The strikes succeed evenings of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
